Jack and I moved to Garsdale from Rochdale in 2017 and fell in love with the area and the house as soon as we saw it. Driving across the moors to Garsdale and we already knew this was the place we wanted to be. We spent several years renovating Rose Cottage before we we able to begin work on the Old Cart House. We tried to retain original features as far as we could, so kept the original floor boards, beams and the use of natural and reclaimed materials as far as possible,and to keep the property as it may have looked almost two hundred years ago. Jack has worked in engineering and had his own engineering business but later worked with probation and supporting offenders with education and training. I have worked in mental health all of my adult life and still work part time for a national charity.
