Guest Guides

Each of our holiday cottages in Garsdale has its own guest guide, and it is linked at the bottom of that cottage's page rather than collected here. The guides cover the things that only apply to the one house, like lighting the fire, where the stopcock is, how the hot water works and what we would like you to do on the way out, so it made sense to keep them with the cottage they belong to.

The guide for Roger Pot is the one written up so far, and it runs from arrival information through to checking out. If you are staying at Farrier's Cottage or The Old Cart House, the owners will send you what you need before you arrive.

Anything about Garsdale and the wider Yorkshire Dales rather than a particular house lives in the main part of the site. There are walks from the door and up the dale, things to do in the area, notes on getting here by road and on the Settle-Carlisle railway, and a fair bit on the history of Garsdale and the village hall and community.
