The Dales Bike Centre is in Swaledale at Fremington, just outside Reeth, at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, and it is the place to go for bike hire, bike shop, cafe and accommodation all in one. The hire fleet runs to over fifty mountain and road bikes, including the latest electric-assist e-bikes - hardtail, hardcore hardtail and full suspension - which you can book online with a live availability system. You can hire for a morning, a full day, or multiple days to explore Swaledale, Wensleydale, Ribblesdale and Wharfedale.
The centre sits at the start of the Swale Trail, the Yorkshire Dales' only dedicated easy-going off-road mountain bike trail, which shadows the River Swale up the dale on mainly off-road paths - ideal if you are not after anything too technical. For riders who are, the centre is also home of the Ardrock Enduro, the UK's premier natural-trails mountain bike festival. The Cakery Cafe on site is well known for homemade cakes, snacks and meals, and there is bunk and breakfast accommodation if you want to stay. Run by Stu, Bren and the team.
