The Royal Lancaster Infirmary is in Lancaster on Ashton Road, run by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, and it is the nearest hospital with a full Accident and Emergency Department if you are staying in Garsdale. As well as A&E it has a Critical Care unit and Consultant-led beds, and provides a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day-case and inpatient surgery. It is roughly forty minutes' drive from Garsdale, further than Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal but with a full A&E rather than an Urgent Treatment Centre.
For life-threatening emergencies, call 999. For urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, the Urgent Treatment Centre at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal is closer and suited to minor illnesses, strains, sprains and broken bones.
