Stone Close Tea Room, Dent

Stone Close is a tea room in Dent village, a small town in the next valley, Dentdale, reached from Garsdale over what is locally called the Coal Road past Garsdale Station. Dent has a cobbled main street, lovely walks from the village, and a good range of cafes, pubs and tea rooms - Stone Close is one of the favourites. A useful stop on a day out exploring Dentdale or as a base for a walk before or after the Sedgwick Geological Trail at Danny Bridge, which sits a few miles east along the A684. Dent itself has a memorial to Adam Sedgwick, born in the village in 1785, who became one of the founders of modern geology; the Sedgwick Museum in Cambridge is named after him. The tea room is in easy walking distance of the cobbled main street.
