Three Peaks Outdoor Leisure was an independent outdoor clothing, footwear and accessory shop in Hawes, at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It traded from 1989 and built a solid reputation for quality gear and sound advice, which counts for a fair bit when the weather turns on the fells. The stock was the kit you actually need for walking the Dales - boots, waterproofs, base layers and accessories - rather than fashion outdoor wear, and the staff knew the area and would steer you right. Google currently lists the shop as permanently closed, so check before making a special trip - if it has gone, the nearest outdoor shops of the same sort are in Kendal, and the Sleepy Elephant in Sedbergh sells walking boots.
It sits at Town Foot on the edge of Hawes, a short walk from the market place and the Dales Countryside Museum.
