The Sedbergh Information Centre and Howgills Bookshop is on Main Street in Sedbergh, run by knowledgeable volunteers who know the area well. It is the place to go for leaflets on things to do in Sedbergh and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales, plus a wide range of maps, guides and travel information if you are planning walks or days out. The attached bookshop stocks thousands of secondhand books to browse through, and they sell newspapers too, which is not a given in a town this size.
It sits at 72 Main Street, the same street as the Black Bull and the Dalesman, so it is easy to pair with a coffee or a pint. The public toilets on Main Street are nearby, which is useful to know if you have children in tow.
